I have an iMac G4 that I am trying to backup to a Maxtor FW HD (getting ready for my MacPro - yeah!). Every time I connect the HD, I get an immediate kernel panic. This Hd has worked fine with this computer in the past. I have tried everything I can think of, new cable, resetting Hd and computer several times, etc.
It works with the USB connection, but it is sooooooooo slow. I have almost 80GB I need to backup.
