In need of help I'm afraid...

Ok, so I have an external 80GB firewire drive. About 30GB is formatted for using on my mac (so it's HFS+). The remaining space, was formatted on a PC with NTFS, so that I can backup my Windows files.

Ok, so when I mount this drive on mac os, it only shows the mac partition on the desktop, not the NTFS. When in Disk Utility, it shows that the other partition is simply 'free space', which it is actually not.

When in Windows Vista, neither partition mounts, and the Disk Management software with Windows sees the partition, but will not let me access it.

I am in a little bit of a problem here. I don't care which OS I use, but I need access to those files on the NTFS partition of this drive.

Can someone offer help?

Cheers.

Is Windows XP working properly with the drive? If you get the chance, reformatting it to FAT32 might make things easier for you from both the Vista and the OSX point of view, although it'll have some limitations. :)
