Hi all

I have a mid-2014 MBP with GeForce 750M. The only thing wanting in the laptop after nearly 3 years is graphics performance in some games. Rather than replacing the laptop entirely, I'm looking for some other ways I might be able to boost GPU performance and the only potential boost would be via an external GPU.

I understand that for peek performance you really need thunderbolt 3 but as I only have thunderbolt 2 on this laptop, that's what I'm working with.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get an eGPU for this machine and if so, where and about how much do they cost? I'll factor in the cost of the GPU separately so it's really just the enclosure and power source I am interested in.

Does anyone know what sort of performance boost I'd get if I stuck a GeForce 960 in an eGPU and ran it on this MBP? Is that ever possible.

Interested in any thoughts or comments on this.

Many thanks.

M.
