Hi. I hope I can have some information. I have got a Mac Pro version 10.13.2 and have 5 external Hard drives in use for video work. Every so often one disappeared. I do not know why or how to retrieve or find it on my Mac.
I see at times disk has unmounted or not ejected correctly. In Disk utility I can see the e/H/D.
Any advice please.

That can happen if the drive is failing or if the drive times out. And there are other reasons also. (cables, etc.) Do the disappearing drives reappear if you reboot? Try swapping the cables with newer ones. And keep in mind that external hard drives like all other hard drives can fail without much advanced warning.

Thanks for writing back. Let me be a bit more pacific. I have 2 external hard drives installed in a Winster communicator SATA HDD USB 3.00 Dock. I notice there is no power showing up. also i have a WD external hard drive this has no power. I checked the power terminal and cable o.k. I did receive a message on my computer that those external drive have not been ejected correctly. I pressed on the message and the 3 E/H/D. Dissapeared from my computer. Even restarted my computer but nothing. Somehow my computer has turned the system off.(I THINK).I dont have a technical mind, but I would like to re-install them. Been searching all day on the internet but cant find a thread on my problem.
