I want to clone my HD to my external HD but I still have stuff on my ex. HD. Will using CCC or Super Duper erase everything already on my Ex. HD???

What I did was make an empty disk image on my external HD using Disk Utility. Then I mounted that empty disk image. I backed up my drive to the disk image. Works just fine.

Yes it will

SD or CCC will erase your external drive before cloning. If you can fit everything from the external onto the internal, then you can safely wipe out the external and clone.

Edit: Or do what he said. That's a great idea! :D
