I just ordered a new MacBook Pro with Retina for college and a LaCie P9220 external HD. I have read online that you could use an external HD as the cache when doing work with graphics, videos, etc. Is that possible with the LaCie P9220 and if it is, is it worthwhile or is it a negligible performance boost?
