External Hard Drive Doesn't Show Up On "Devices"

I have a 13" MBP purchased summer of 2010 and I have a Seagate FA GoFlex Desk Media external hard drive. It was having issues ejecting so I tried dragging it to the trash in hopes of being able to eject it after. But now I can't locate the external hard drive, I can find specific files when I search using spotlight but how can I get it back? Thanks in advance.

Finder > Preferences >> Sidebar >>> Click the appropriate check box (external disks).
