Hi all,

I have been using an external hard drive formatted in the NTSF format for a while now with my Apple and I am tired of not being able to change anything so I plan to transfer the files and then wipe the drive a start fresh.

The drive is currently encrypted and I use True Crypt to mount the drive (which was a huge headache to get to work with Snow Leopard).

I like the idea of making it a Time Capsule but I want the entire drive to be encrypted and I also would like to be able to add files to the drive that are not stored on my computer.

Can I encrypt the entire drive and still use Time Machine or do I need to do my backups on my own if I encrypt the drive?

Thank you for any advice.
