I'm looking into purchasing an external hard drive to host iTunes library and double as a backup for my iMac hard drive. Any suggestions as to which hard drives out there would be a good fit to store my entire iTunes library and fast enough to stream to my Apple TV?

If you have a new mac with 3.0

Get a drive that has that

You can't go wrong with western digital or seagate

I went cheap and got a toshiba drive

3TB 3.0 for $119

I also bought this one
1TB 3.0 $65

Both working fine

I stream to Apple TV , I have my movies on the 3TB drive

Edit: I also have an old 2TB wd drive that I use for backup with time machine
