Hi Everyone,

I've searched the threads, and I've found a lot of confusing (confusing to me) posts about being able to share files on an external hard drive between Osx & XP sides... I'm really not a computer wiz, and I'm new to macs, but hopefully you guys can answer my questions in "simple" terms.

I have a new MackBook Pro w/ a partioned HD in Fat32. I use the Windows XP side just as much as I use the Mac OSX side. I want to buy an external hard drive where I can view/share/save files between both sides.

I was thinking about buying this EHD:
Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive (WDG1U1600N)
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/West...psm/oid/144990/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do#tabs

I think it comes formatted in FAT32...(?)

In researching the external hard drive, I was seaching the Western Digital website, and I came across this on Western's website:
Can I use a Western Digital external hard drive on both a PC and a Mac?
Go to: http://support.wdc.com/ & search for "291"

But I'm not sure if that above thread even applies to me, because that thread from Western Digital appears to be for when 2 DIFFERENT computers (1 PC & 1 Mac) are used...

Anyway --- Here is my question --- I want to have an external hard drive where I can view/access/save files from both sides (Mac OSX & Windows XP)... So what do I need to buy? And once I buy I, do I need to do anything special to it? (reformat it, etc) What are the limitations?

THANK YOU
