So I was trying to delete some files off of a external hard drive, a WD my book 1TB, and when emptying the trash it started to count items to delete, but then when the bar filled to indicate that it was done it started going negative. Now it is up to -50,000 files to delete, is something wrong with my hard drive?

Suggestion:
- If there is an option available to "stop emptying" the trash, click it.
- Next, open the trash icon and check over what's inside
- Are there _more files_ inside than you intended? If so, move them OUT of the trash.
It's possible you mistakenly put more into the trash than you wanted....
