External Hard Drive Help!

Hello,

I have just bought a 'Prolific PL3507 Combo Device' 250GB with a
"LaserExternal Case" with IEEE 1394 FireWire
I have set it up and pluged it into the firewire connection and turned it on.

Now, There is no Icon on my desktop or Finder tool bar,
However it does shows up in Disk Utility.

How do I get it to show up on my desktop or Finder tool bar ??

Have you tried partitioning and formatting it in Disk Utility?

I just looked up how to do a partition and it worked.
