I am trying to use a Seagate go flex external 1tb hard drive with my iMac. It doesn't allow me to transfer files. I have reformat the hard drive several time. Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything before I shell out money for a new hard drive. Any ideas?

That drive should work fine. Can you explain how you formatted? Did you use Disk Utility and in the erase tab select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then apply that format.

I formatted with Disk Utility to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) several time. But it will not allow me to move files. I get an error 36&50.

It is a go flex portable. USB3 on my Mac
