I just recently purchased and received a Cavalry CAXR Series External Hard Drive (http://www.cavalrystorage.com/CAXR.htm) which was pre-formatted for PC with NTFS format. It claims to be usable by Mac OS. As I attempted to reformat the hard drive for mac use using Disk Utility, I found that I could not find my hard drive listed anywhere in the Disk Utility, desktop, or Finder. I went to *Apple Logo* -> About This Mac -> More Info -> Hardware -> USB; it isn't listed in there either.

I am running Mac OS X 10.5.4 on a MacBook Pro. On Finder preferences, I set it so that hard drives and external hard drives are to be seen.

What are solutions to this problem?
