I'm a DJ with an External Hard Drive of about 98,000 Songs. I buddy of mine had it connected to his computer when he was adjusted some permisions on his computer and now I don't have the correct privelages on the drive and can't change the permissions, even when logged in as root... they won't change.

PLEASE HELP!

What Mac OS X version do you have, what specific HDD do you have, how does it connect to your Mac (what model) and what does show up in Disk Utility under FIRST AID > Verify Permissions?

What did your friend exactly do and what computer did s/he use? Can s/he reverse it?

How did you try to change permissions?
