Before I up graded my HD on my MBP, I tried to use my Seagate external HD with TimeMachine for the back up. But as soon as TimeMachine gets to 9.0 or so GB it stops and tells me that it cant use the chosen HD??????:confused:

Need some help here.

Can you tell a bit more about your hard drive? What size and especially what format is it? HFS+, FAT32, NTFS?

It's a Seagate ST30000CB w/firewire and USB 2.0......I cant even get the MBP to recognize it now. I think that I formatted it the wrong way???? What do I do now? I even tried hooking it up to a PC, no luck there aether.

I would just go into disk utility and format the drive again, that is if your computer can see it on OSX. If not try booting from the restore CD and using disk utility there.

Actually, have you tried restarting?

Yes I have, If I can get it to see the drive again, what option of format should I choose?
