Hello all,
I just had my second LaCie d2 hard drive die on me and I'm in desperate need of a new one...just not LaCie again. Any recommendations? I need 7200 rpm for pro tools. Thanks in advance!

I've been using a maxtor 1TB external drive (2 500GB trives tied together into a raid 0 array). With FW800 it gives great performance. Only downside is that no FW400 cable is provided, so if you use that, you'll have to scare up your own cable. Had it since April last year.

I've also been using a Western Digital drive (250Gb) for almost two years. It too has forked just fine - though it lacks FW800. They have a new range of drives that do have FW800 - including a 1TB drive that pulls the same stunt at the Maxtor by tying two drives together.

i would definitly use anything by "fantom drives". i have a 250GB that works pefect- good luck.

I'll second the fantom drives. Best drives i've ever used, and cheaper than pretty much anything out there. I bought a 250 gb for $99 from Mac Mall after rebates.
