i just got a new hard drive that works on mac, but for some reason cant put anything on it.
i asked the company i bought it from.. and they replied (as seen underneath). but i don't know where control panel etc are..

they said:

1.Connect the drive to your computer

2.From the Apple menu, select Control Panels > Extensions Manager.

3.From the list that appears, uncheck the check box next to the
File Exchange control panel. Click Restart. Note: This extension
may already by disabled; therefore, you do not need to restart. etc.......

CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIND CONTROL PANEL ETC??

i just cant make it work??

THANKS! ! ! !

I seem to remember Control Panels in Mac OS9 about 7 years ago....

I assume this disk is an external USB2 disk and if so it should show up in your desktop/finder.....

Or open Disk Utility in Applications/Utilities and see if it shows up there....

logana is correct, what they are telling you is circa 1999.

Perhaps this drive is formatted in NTFS format which is not writable in OS X. if you are using the drive with only MAC's you need to reformat it.

Open your Applications folder, then open the Utilities folder and then double click on 'DISK UTILITY'

Highlight the external drive and then reformat it.

open utilities, then open disk utility (i believe thats what its called), then select the drive volume and erase and reformat as Mac Journaled format. hope that helps
