Hello, today I purchased a brand new MacBook Pro(OSX version 10.8.2) after my previous MacBook(from 2008, unsure what OS version it was running) seemed to go south after an apparent logic board failure. I attempted to import my pictures/music/photos/etc from the hard drive I used for my old MBP to the new one, but the new MBP is not reading it at all. I've tried resetting the PRAM, running disk repair on the Mac HD and using canned air to dust out the ports and cables to my hard drive. My other HD that I use for movies and TV is able to be read. All the research I've done is pointing to a formatting issue, which I don't believe it to be since I've been using that HD for time machine for 3ish years now. I'm really unable to check as well since the original computer won't even turn on.

After doing some digging, I went into the logs and found errors stating things like 'device not responding' or 'the IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep trying' or 'The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a device.'

Edit: It's probably worth noting that the hard drive is a Verbatim model#IS320.

Any help is much appreciated. I have 6ish years of memories on that thing and losing it would be pretty devastating.
