I'm going to get the AirPort Extreme Base Station, and I want to take full advantage of the fact that you can plug an external USB hard drive into it... any advice on good brands?

I'll need it for both Mac and PC access.

I have 2 MyBook and one Seagate attached via a powered 7 port usb hub to my Extreme and I am happy with them all. I also had a maxtor attached and it was fine as well. I would recommend any of them. :apple:
I also have 2 printers attached to the hub and they are working great with the Extreme.

I've been looking at MyBooks... the Seagate is good too?

Yes, I also plan on hooking the printer up to a hub.

Thanks for the advice!

Any advice on where to get good prices?

So far I've been looking on newegg and zipzoomfly.com

Just realized... I'll want to use it for Time Machine with Leopard... so I have a question...

I see Time Machine requires a "non-bootable volume formatted in Apple’s HFS Extended format" that is devoted only to Time Machine... how hard is it to partition an external drive in HFS+ so that Time Machine can use it and be happy while allowing the rest of the drive to be accessable for Mac and PC?
