External Harddrive suggestion for MBP with 120GB SSD apple HD

Since I'm getting the 120gb SSD HD most probably from apple on my new laptop, can someone suggest me an external harddrive which will work well with the SSD/laptop?

The last external HD i had (about 5-10 years ago) was rubbish but it was ages ago so I'm guessing technology has moved on a lot.

Hard drive technology hasn't changed much in the last 5 years. Pick a drive for your budget and make sure it has a good warranty.
