I have an Aluminum Macbook and a Western Digital External Harddrive. Does anyone know how to set up the harddrive so that all of my media (music, photos, movies, etc.) will save directly to the external harddrive?
In iTunes you have to go to the preferences window and change the location of your music library to the external drive. I believe there is a similar option in iPhoto, but I haven't used it in a long time.
Im asking how i can designate my external harddrive to save all of the music, photos, movies, etc. that i download or import automatically rather than these files saving to my laptop's internal harddrive.
Where you save these things is a function of the application you use to download them. There isn't a global setting for this.
You can set up iTunes to have its library on the external drive, Firefox/Safari to automatically save downloads to that drive, etc. Each application will have a different setting you'll need to change.
