External Hardware Wont erase and repair

I have a hardrive everytime i plug it in it reads: cannot be repiared try reformatting (etc.)

So i go into disk utilities and try to verify and repair it and it say internal error. I dont really care about the contents on the ahrdware just want it to be usable again so i go to erase and click erase and just before its done it says cannot erase some formatting error. Please help me get this external hardrive working again it cost a fair bit.

Unfortunately it sounds like your external disk drive may be failing, as these sort of errors are common when a drive is on its way out.
