I have a external HD that I use for downloads, videos, misc storage, etc, that I sometimes use on my PC as well. Even though I safely ejected it on the PC, it seems to have caused some file inconsistencies, because whenever I try to empty the trash when it's plugged into my MBP, it causes a kernel panic. Ive used disk utility and the drive checks out fine. Is there a way to securely delete the trash, or do I have to copy everything over to another drive and reformat it?
