I have recently run out of space on my hard drive, so I partitioned my external DH with disk utility and used 1/2 of it for time machine and 1/2 of it for an iphoto backup (so I can delete photos off of my macbook's hd) and I also moved my season of a TV show to the external HD- but I only moved the high def. episodes, I was going to leave the normal episodes on the macbook's HD because they take up a lot less room.
So I thought that I'd be able to to watch the non-high def. episodes via iTunes and have the high def. ones stored on the HD. When I went to play them, however, they were not there? I looked in the folder <user name / music / itunes / itunes music / tv shows> and the non high def. ones are not there anymore...
What I did exactly is drag and drop the high def episodes from that folder into my external HD, and then I went into iTunes and I selected them and it asked if I wanted to delete them and I said yes (thinking that the non-high def ones will still be there). Then I followed some instructions I found somewhere to have itunes locate the files off of my external HD when I want to watch them but to NOT sync them and add them back to the iTunes library.

anyways- does anyone have any idea what happened to the non high def episodes? did they get deleted when I deleted the other episodes from my iTunes library?? I guess its not that big of a deal as I still have the high def ones on my external but I didn't intend to delete the others without putting them on the external HD so I'd have them to put on my iphone when needed...
