Hi,
I'm using 10.6.8. My external Maxtor HD, which is plugged to a passive D-Link USB hub, doesn't go to sleep after I eject it. It keeps spinning.
I need to plug it off and back on. I eject it again after it mounts and then only it's turned off.
It's not a big deal but slightly annoying.
Any ideas of what could be done? Thanks.

Try without the hub and see what happens. It isn't USB powered so it is still getting power and staying on. Which model of Maxtor is it?

I've already tried without the hub. I thought it was the solution but the same thing happened (even though it seems less frequent).
It's a Maxtor Onetouch 4. Sometimes it does eject ok but most times it doesn't.
