External HD error after Lion upgrade

I have 2 external HD's both with NTFS partitions. They both worked perfect before I upgraded to Lion but now one doesn't. The one that is now not working had the lion install app on it. I tried installing lion from this HD but it kept getting stuck at the reboot. I then moved the app to the Mac HD and it worked fine.

Any idea how I can fix this external HD without loosing the contents? I even tried to erase it but it gave me an error.
