External HD for 4TB storage (raid or no raid)

Hi,

Over the next 3-4 weeks I need to get more storage space. I work almost exclusively with photographs (20mb raw files, 400-700mb psd files, large Lightroom catalogues).

At the moment, I've got a 2tb G-Drive which serves me well. (G5 PowerMac, will upgrade to new MacPros when they come out).

I'm pondering with the idea of a raid system. What would you recommend?
Drobo? Oyen Digital? Qnap? Buffalo Terastation?

Apart from connection type (usb/firewire/ethernet...) and obviously the type of HD (probably Seagate Barracuda):
What kind of tech specs should I watch out for the actual enclosure?
