I would like to fomatt it so i can use it on both a windows machine and Mac OS X. What format should I use and what is (journaled?) also, what exactly is this used for?

S Scottyk9 macrumors 6502a Jun 18, 2004 656 95 Canada Dec 4, 2004 #2 Macs can see FAT32 formatted drives, but windows cannot see HFS+. Format as FAT32 and both a windows machine and a Mac will be able to use the drive.
