Hi Guys,

Basically I have an iomega 320GB external drive formatted to DOS-FAT. I use the drive between my mac at home and imacs at university running XP.
The problem is now when I go to use the drive in the winmac at uni, it doesn't come up when I plug it in the firewire 800. And when I try to write some files that used to be on the drive to the drive on my mac, it refuses to write them saying some files are corrupt.

The problem started when I re-named the drive on my mac.

I just want a way to start the drive completely afresh, ive tried using the basic setting on disk utility to format the drive but still having problems.

Cheers,

Volume repair?

Hi,

Have you tried doing a volume repair yet?

Not sure how well the Mac disk utility handles FAT32 drives. You might want to do it using the Windows disk management snap-in through the admin control panel.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Mark
