This week I ordered my first MacBook Pro (13" Retina 2.8 i7/16GB/512), as long as we don't get a major snowstorm between China and home it will arrive on Friday. I have a 1TB external drive formatted for Mac and I plan to use it for back ups. My question is can I also store movies on the same drive? (I'm not so worried about backing them up as my main machine (27" iMac) will have them).

Thanks in advance,

Stevi

Sure... that is not a problem at all. Just make a folder on the drive and drop your movies in there. Or if you prefer you can partition the drive into two partitions, one for Time Machine backup and the other for your movies.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer. That's what I suspected but I wanted to make sure before I did it.
