How can I reformat my HD to Fat32 or whatever so that my PS3 will notice it but not loose my data on it. As the data on it is what I want to put on my ps3 Thanks

you would have to move everything off of the drive, reformat it, then put everything back on. But with FAT32, you can only move things in 6gb increments. If i were you, i'd go with something else other than FAT32 like NTFS or something like that because FAT32 is out of date.

how to you format it to that. the only options i see are mac os extended(journeled and case sensitive) ms dos....I need my PS3 to recognize it

Fat32 will probably be the most robust format for OS X <-> PS3 interaction.

OP, format listed as MS-DOS is FAT32. PS3 doesn't support NTFS last I checked.
