External HD Questions

I'm going to go buy a external HD tomorrow and I am wondering what ones are the best out there for their price? Also I am going to transfer my iTunes library and iPhoto contents over there. How do I do all that so its stored on my External and not my computer? Also when I store my iTunes library will i have to have my external plugged in to listen to the music?

simply move the music folder to the external. then in itunes preferences, just change the path of folder location

you would need the external plugged in to play the music if all your music resides on the external
