External HD won't mount via Airport Extreme

I have a western digital hard drive plugged into my AEBS and it shows up in Airport Utility but won't mount onto my desktop. I can manually mount it with Finder by going to >Go>Connect to server>select the hard drive from my AEBS. Frustrating!
