External HDD? Any Recommendations?

I'm looking for a good external storage device. Can anybody recommend some good ones?

What size of hard drive are you looking for and do you want it to be portable (powered by the computer, but smaller in capacity) or one that stays plugged in to the wall? (Less expensive per GB and larger in capacity)

Plenty of capacity but not way too much, portable. I just want to know some good products so I can do my own searching around with trusted brands already in mind.

Western Digital, Seagate and Hitachi all make good drives. I'm actively using all of those manufactures in my Macs and haven't had any trouble. Here's a 1TB portable hard drive for you for less than $90.
