Hi Guys

Has anyone had any issues with External HDD Disconnecting???? I have an external HDD constantly connected to my MBP and since upgrading to 10.9 it seems to disconnect randomly... I upgraded to 10.9.2 and it seemed to fix the issue until now when its happened a few times again..

Really frustrating.. Any fixes for this that anyone knows about????

Thanks

Hay

I'm wondering whether I need to buy an external HDD that has external power???? as its plug in constantly (itunes library is on it)

Would this sort the disconnects???? Definitely doesn't happen as often than before 10.9.2 and normally happens when waking the MBP from sleep

This may or may not help.

If you go to System Preferences, and check the "Energy Saver" tab, is there a checkmark in "put hard disks to sleep when possible" ????

I suggest that too. My WD likes to shut down a lot but even after the Sys Prefs setting being changed it still does.

It was ticked so I have now unchecked that :)

Glad it's not just me then.. I was told the 10.9.2 would fix this issue.. and although its better than it was on 10.9.1 the problem still occurs
