Hey guys,
my backup drive that I use Time Machine with had been acting up lately, not allowing me to complete backups anymore, but since I didn't do much on my Mac recently I never quite thought much of it, thinking it was a bug in my GM of OS X El Capitan.
Anyhow, the drive doesn't mount anymore, the drive does spin up though.
The problem I have is that I used the drive for some files temporarily while waiting for a new drive, files that happened to pile up and my Time Machine drive was the only drive with free capacity.
Long story short:
I need to know which files I actually put on there, beyond the backups of course, which can easily be "restored" by simply running Time Machine on a new backup drive.
Depending on my luck I'd of course love to restore those files.
Any ideas beyond sending it in for drive repair? (not an option)
