About a year ago I bought bought a 400 gig 2.5 WD hard drive along with a cheap enclosure and made an external hdd that I could carry around. I use it all them time. I have my time machine back up as well as itunes movies and iphoto library. A week ago I plug it in and I get an error from time machine. I go to disk utility to verify and verify fails. Then I go to repair and that fails too. Now when I plug it in it takes about 5 minutes for it to recognize it. When it does come up it's locked and I can't move anything or unmount it. Is this a problem with the HDD or the enclosure?

External HDD not working on macbook
