A few days ago time machine would tell me that it failed to backup. The disk would also be unable to unmount. Disk Utility showed that there was an invalid node structure on my backup partition, but my other partitions appears OK and functions normally.

Is the hard drive failing, or do I just need to reformat it? Also, when trying to copy my backup files to the other partitions I get error code - 1426.
