Hi all,
I'm new to MacRumors and I have a situation that has me spinning my wheels.
I've searched the forums for this particular scenario with no luck(Not saying its' not here somewhere).
I have 2 external WD HDDs(NTFS) both that worked fine up until recently. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary using my macbook pro(snow leopard 2010), but I did find out that someone took it upon themselves "Repair My Disk Permissions" when they were trying to do the "Repair Disk" from the Disk Utility while they were using it b/c they said my case was running hot(Even though they had a lot of stuff up along with watching videos and transferring data)
. Never the less, I can not write to the external HDD's anymore, they are read-only. Now I had MacFuse and NTFS-3G installed when all this took place.
So what I did was uninstall them both and installed OSXFuse(MacFuse successor) and NTFS-3G again but with no luck to writing to either one of them or another one of the interloper's drives that decided to help me out.
Any help or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as I do use my HDD's with Windows laptops and would rather not have to go out and get an extra HDD just to back these 2 up and reformat them.
Thanks
Glad no one wasted their time on my question. I figured it out and it wasn't an issue that I found on this site. Thanks.
