External HDD won't mount in 10.6.2

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been covered before but couldn't find an answer on the forum.

I've got a 250GB Lacie External, firewire 600 drive.

Since I installed snow leopard on my iMac it doesn't show on the desktop or in the finder window anymore! The thing is, it shows on the iMac at work which is exactly the same age, spec and operating system version!

iMac 2.16 core 2 duo, 250GB HDD, 10.6.2.

So the drive obviously works! Any idea what it could be people?!

I went through the exact problem with no help from Apple or anything online. i tried a number of things including other disk utility programs like Disk Warrior. Nothing would mount my Lacie 1TB. The fix DID arrive, however, with 10.6.2. Unfortunately I can't offer a solution but the OS update did fix the phantom problem that nobody else could identify.
