External HDs don't show after upgrading to Snow Leopard

I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard on a 24-inch iMac. I have a 1Tb WD Studio on Firewire 800 and a 500Gb LaCie d2 connected on USB 2.0. Both drives are running and don't show anymore. I un plugged them, re-plugged them and rebooted. No show.???
They don't show either in the Finder or the Disk utility.
