I have a new imac with built in isight etc. However, i have a chance of getting the external isight thats discontinued by apple.
Wondering how good that is compared to the built in ones. I like the flexibility of moving the camera around when recording.
any suggestion if the external isight is still supported by apple?
and if its good to buy it ?
thanks

Yeah, the external iSight is still a great little item to use. I believe it supports a higher resolution picture, and would be really neat to film different angles rather than straight on.

If you get a good deal go for it. These still sell for a ton of cash on eBay so even if you got sick of it you could potentially make a few bucks.

cool thanks.I was reading on wikipedia regarding the isight and it said its rez was only 640x480.
Also it did mention
"...With the LED-Backlit MacBook Pros, Apple has moved to using a sensor capable of 1280x960, but when accessed using provided APIs, the image is re-sampled to 640x480."
