I recently purchased the 80GB Porsche external USB 2.0 HD from Lacie.

It's almost filled now. I want to purchase another one, but it will be a Firewire drive. But, I was wondering whether or not it would be possible to daisy chain 2 USB drives if I decided to buy a USB 2 drive rather then a FW drive?

Can it be done if I buy some sort of USB 2.0 hub?

like crackedbutter said, yeah, you can chain usb 2 drives.

this is why harddrives having more than one port are nice. you don't need a hub to daisy chain.

but the funny thing is...i have a usb hub...and when I plug my usb 2.0 HD into it...my mac doesnt recognize it!

i mean....the drive doesnt seem to want to mount

is it a usb1 or usb2 hub?

what is your Mac? does it have usb2 ports?

part of the problem might be the power being drawn by devices...
