I am having a very large problem with my brand new macbook pro 15 2 GHz. I used both a third party and apple dvi to thunderbolt adapter, and neither of them work with my external monitor (a 24" westinghouse that worked perfect on my old macbook pro 2.2 17"). I also have a usb display adapter for an additional 23" hanspree monitor, which works fine. I am wondering if Lion OS will fix this problem? Stranger yet, I got both external monitors to work in windows 7 x64 and even in mac os ONCE after resetting the PMU and PRAM. I am not sure of how to proceed? I do not feel that paying 1k for an apple monitor is a valid solution to this rather large issue.

The monitor works also works fine with my windows 2008 server, so it clearly is a mac issue. Could there be an issue with the power output of the thuderbolt port that can be fixed via software?
