External LCD monitor issue using DVI input while in Vista

I have an old Dell 21" LCD monitor that I am using with my new Alum MB. I bought the mini displayport to DVI adapter. When in Mac OS, the MB displays to the monitor fine (although there are screen glitches that happen every so often). When in Vista, I cannot get the monitor to work. I go to control panel settings and it won't recognize that I have an external monitor connected. I bought a the mini displayport to VGA adapter and that works fine with Vista.

Is there a known issue with the DVI not working while in Vista?

Also, does anyone know if the new 24" LED Cinema Display works fine with Vista?
