I have recently purchased an Intel iMac and am loving it...aside from my lack internet connection!

I won't be getting broadband for another month or two and only have dial-up to depend upon until then - not the best situation seeing how the iMacs are now modem-less and I never ordered one of Apple's external modems.

Someone lent me their D-Link DU-560M, which i thought would be fine, and when i plug it in, it is recognised on the System Profiler as being connected. However, when i try to establish a connection within Network Preferences, i have no such luck.

Does anyone have any idea what i can do from here to get the modem working, if at all possible?

And while i'm here, i tried plugging it into the Keyboard USB port, which it obviously didn't like (doh) and the port has been deactivated because it was asking for too much power. How do i re-activate it, or have i buggered it?!

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
