I have an Asus PA248Q external monitor connected via HDMI through the Apple multiport adapter, and I use it in clamshell mode. When the rMB is sleeping, the external monitor keeps cycling in and out of sleep mode - it sleeps, then immediately wakes up to a blank screen, then sleeps again, then wakes up again... over and over until I wake up the rMB. I was hopeful that the mutiport adapter update would fix the problem, but no love. Anybody else have this problem?

what's the multiport adapter update? i have one but rarely use it.

I'm not sure, honestly - Apple just called it an "update." It pops up a window when you plug in the multiport adapter, installs the update, and (in my case) does a painfully slow reboot. I haven't been able to find any details about what it actually does, other than general "improving stability and compatibility." Except it didn't in my case :)

Try disabling Power Nap under the power settings.

Rats - that was a great suggestion, but the problem persists. I tried turning off the 'wake for network access' option, too.
