I have a MACBOOK PRO I've been attempting to use my 22'' Vizio HDTV as a external display Im using a thunderbolt adapter with a HDMI chord to connect the tv and computer but I keep getting a message on the tv saying "PLEASE WAIT" while the computer screen flashes blue on and off. The tv is set on HDMI input and It seems like their is a syncing issue going on. Any suggestions?

im using an adapter, one end goes in the computer the other end is used for the hdmi chord that goes from the adapter into the tv. I just purchased the adapter yesterday and the chord is brand new. I doubt it has anything to do with the chords. Im hoping it has something to do with my display setting, other forums suggest that i click the arrangements link under the display settings and turn on mirroring but i have no arrangements link in my display settings.
