External Monitor Enters Split-Screen Mode when MacBook awakens from sleep mode

Hey so I have a MacBook Air M1 and an LG 4K 32 Inch Monitor 32UN880-B that I use as an external monitor. Its connected via USB-C and I keep the Mac in clamshell mode. When I come awaken my Mac from sleep mode (press on the external keyboard or Magic Trackpad 2) the display on the external monitor comes back on the top left. I'll attach a pic so yall can see what I mean. I have to open the MacBook and close it again for the monitor to return to full-screen. Whats going on? Anyone have these issues before?
I had a 27 inch 4k LG monitor and this never happened.
